Morphological properties of the major spotless two-ribbon flare on April 23, 1981 are described. It is shown that the spotless two-ribbon flare is associated with an activation and a sudden disappearance of the quiescent filament lying in the region. At the same time, it is also found that the fibrils surrounding the filament have suffered a great change for 24 hr before the flare. They might have changed into being parallel to the filament from being perpendicular to it. Finally, a qualitative discussion about these main morphological properties is presented.
