White dwarf stars are the most common stellar endpoint for low to intermediate mass stars. White dwarf luminosity functions are the key to learning more about white dwarfs in open and globular clusters. The luminosity functions will allow us to estimate the cluster ages and understand how we should attempt to observe these faint objects. To approximate these luminosity functions we used Monte Carlo techniques to simulate populations of white dwarfs in clusters. From the simulated stars we create HR diagrams and luminosity functions for those populations, and with these luminosity functions we attempt to predict the nature of the results possible with the upcoming Advanced Camera for Surveys on the Hubble Space Telescope. It is our goal to see if the new ACS with its ability to image objects down to 30th magnitude will be able to resolve faint enough objects to give interesting constraints on the ages of clusters through white dwarf cosmochronology.
