The formation of molecules on the surface of interstellar dust grains plays a fundamental role to enrich the chemical complexity of species observed in space that cannot form efficiently in the gas phase. We give a short presentation with a slight historical perspective of laboratory investigations about reactions catalyzed on interstellar grain nalogues, focusing attention on molecular hydrogen and carbon dioxide.
