The results are given of infrared observations dof M giants. The obtained data indicate the presence in the infrared spectra of the investigated stars of absorption due to the presence of H2O and CO molecules in the outer layers of the atmospheres of these stars and, possibly, in their envelopes. The parameters of the envelopes are estimated and the dependence of the obtained values of the parameters on the periods and phase of the luminosity curve is considered.
