On the basis of the application of a number of accurately known oscillator strengths to a least-squares fit, it is possible to obtain the coefficients of a function whose intensity, I, is taken from such tabulations as that of Meggers et al. (1975). Recently measured lifetimes are presently used to obtain an improved formula for application to the Nd II spectrum. It is determined that oscillator strengths for more than 600 Nd II lines are obtainable, with an uncertainty value that is generally superior to 0.17 dex.
