In this paper, CN and C2 isophotes for the comets Tago-Sato-Kosaka (1969IX) and Bennett (1970II) obtained by Rahe (1976) are used to obtain their average radial intensity distributions. Using Haser's formula, scale lengths of daughter and parent molecules are obtained by comparing observation with theory. The lifetimes of these molecules are also obtained. The results favor the viewpoint that HCN is the parent molecule of CN and C2H2 is that of C2.
