It is shown that, using the Cauchy formula for quaternion functions in multidimensional spaces, it is possible to compute the characteristics of the disturbing gravity field using the values of the field intensity assigned for a compact closed surface. The calculations are fast and highly accurate and yield estimates of systematic errors. The method can be used to model different geophysical fields.
