Three-dimensional distributions of ionospheric-plasma parameters for different levels of magnetic activity have been obtained via calculations using a numerical model of the convective polar ionosphere. These distributions are used to calculate short-wave ray patterns at high latitudes. It is shown that large-scale ionization irregularities generated in the ionosphere by soft auroral electrons should, in winter conditions, have a significant effect on short-wave trajectories on high-latitude paths oriented along a magnetic meridian.
