We model gas emission lines from the transition disk around the classical T Tauri star, TW Hya. We infer the spatial distribution of gas in the disk by comparing model emission lines of vibrational and rotational transitions of CO, molecular hydrogen and other fine structure lines. We compare our results to the inferred dust distribution from previous dust models of TW Hya and speculate on the evolutionary status of the protoplanetary disk.
This project was funded by the NSF REU program and the NASA Astrobiology Institute.
