The properties of Damped Lyman-α systems (DLAs) are investigated by Monte Carlo simulations assuming that they are disk galaxies at redshift z˜3. The transition of hydrogen between its atomic and molecular phases together with a new prescription of star formation are considered. It is found that the modelled DLAs could reproduce the observational features well, especially for the observational anti-correlation between their metallicities and HI column densities.
