A model for the fragmentation of a medium in molecular clouds under the effect of supersonic motions is suggested. A kinetic equation describing shock wave interactions is proposed and studied. The asymptotic velocity distribution of the shock waves is found, and the statistical characteristics of the clumps are estimated. The mass spectrum of the clumps becomes steeper and tends to the exponential spectrum with an exponent of approximately -3/2.
