A new, model-independent method has been developed for determining mass distributions of cluster of galaxies from high quality X-ray data. By avoiding unwarranted assumptions, model-independent methods make best use of high quality data. The new method fits a general mass model directly to X-ray spectra, constraining mass profiles in the spectral fitting process. The method has been applied to X-ray data from the Chandra archive to determine mass distributions of for clusters of galaxies. Results are compared to those for other methods of mass determination.
