Spectroscopic Binaries: Alpha Crb, Theta Vir, Fundamental Parameters, Stellar Models
Scientific paper
Our aim in the present paper is to model the atmospheric parameters of the spectroscopic binaries theta CrB and alpha Vir. Synthetic spectral analysis of both the individual and disentangled spectra has been performed and yielded effective temperatures (Teff), surface gravities (log g) and projected rotational velocities (v sin i) for these two systems. The derived effective temperature of theta CrB reveals that the spectral type is near B9 instead of A0 as derived by earlier investigations. For alpha Vir, our result confirms the conclusion of the comparison with IUE observations, which revealed that the effective temperature is 5% larger than that estimated by models. Comparis on on a theoretical log Teff - log g plane with Granada evolutionary tracks is discussed.
