Scientific paper

Some 43000 visual observations of five Mira stars, each observed for
more than 50 years, are analysed and the results are compared with
catalogue data. A number of interesting correlations are found among
features in their light curves. The method of analysis, to be used in
future reports on Mira stars, is described in detail.
