The development of the indirect part of the disturbing function of minor planet short-periodic perturbations is presented up to degree four terms. The formalism used by Leverrier (1855) and by Yuasa (1973) is applied. An example is given of how the formalism can be expressed in the form of a simple list of integers defined by a suitably chosen generic term. The results of an analysis of the significance of terms of different degrees are given, and their impact on the accuracy of the perturbation theory is examined.
