The magnetite-quartzites of Nainarmalai forms part of a large iron ore
belt of Tamilnadu which occurs in a high grade granulite terrain. They
are associated with basic granulites and gneisses. Mineralogical and
chemical studies indicate their similarities with other metasedimentary
iron ores.
