We present millimetre continuum observations of the low-mass,
carbon-rich stars 89 Her and AC Her. The IRAS-millimetre flux
distributions are consistent with emission by large (>~1 μm)
grains. This suggests that the grains are confined in the circumstellar
environment rather than participating in an outflow.
