Mesospheric temperatures have been obtained by Rayleigh-scatter lidar from the Atmospheric Lidar Observatory (ALO) operated by Utah State University (41.7 N, 111.8 W). A climatology has been developed spanning the period from 1993 to the present and the altitude region from 45 to 90 km. These temperatures will be compared to those from other ground-based and space-based instruments. Many of these comparisons will emphasize the region near 87 km. The temperatures have been investigated for seasonal variability and special equinoctial events; annual variability, and unusual events. The RMS temperature variability has also been examined as a function of season.
