We propose mid-infrared polarimetric imaging of the bpic disk to probe its dust composition. The silicate emission feature in the disk is weak beyond 20 AU, so direct compositional information on the disk is hard to come by. In addition, despite more than ten years of mid- infrared imaging of the disk, a basic mystery remains - how the asymmetry, i.e. the fact that the SW side is brighter at 8-13 (mu)m, arose and is maintained. The newly commissioned polarimetric mode of Michelle on Gemini N allows a novel way of studying the disk dust.
