Much progress has been made in the MHD numerical simulations in the solar atmosphere during the past 30 years. Both the numerical methods and the results are reviewed, with emphasis on checking theoretical models, explaining observational features, and studying effects of magnetic reconnection. Some crucial points are discussed and future efforts are suggested.
