Solar Disk: Velocity Fields, Solar Disk: Methods Of Reduction

The computer techniques HELICOR and HELICOR-M are described to determine precise heliographic coordinates of solar disk details. By consequent corrections of systematic errors, the algorithms may be accurate to within 0.05 heliographic degrees of arc. The authors discuss scales of errors and character of their influence upon horizontal velocity field measured by means of solar details as the tracers. The method of investigations of distortions and the ways of corrections for the atmospheric refraction, general optical distortion, position angle error, casette inclination and scales etc. are presented.
