Questions of methodology are considered in the postflight ballistic analysis of the descent trajectories of Venera-type modules on the basis of results of trajectory data processing. Detailed attention is given to algorithms for the statistical solution of the problem of reconstructing the descent trajectory in all segments of the near-planetary stage of flight: before atmospheric entry, during motion in the dense layers of the atmosphere, and after the landing of the module on the planetary surface.
