The standard least-squares method is modified in a way that makes it possible to extend the observability range of 'self-determining' spacecraft. The greatest difficulty posed by this algorithm is the computation of the optimal regularization coefficient k. In most practical problems this coefficient can be given a priori as 0.01; in certain other cases it can be determined recursively.
