An astrophotometric method of determining the transfer functions of photo-optical systems under natural conditions is discussed. The method is based on an analysis of the spread function of an infinitely narrow luminous line, the image of which is obtained through the exposure of a point light source - a star - that is moving because of the rotation of the earth with respect to the stationary instrument. The results of a determination of the transfer function of a high-speed cinetelescope are presented.
