A calculation method is described for the a priori estimation of the background luminance from the moon in a given region of the sky, based on the results of a statistical analysis of experimental data. The method has been implemented in the form of a library of computer programs, which permits a rapid consideration of the astroclimatic conditions of an observation point and to simulate the background luminance distribution in a given region of the sky when preparing to carry out observations of different classes of astronomical objects.
