We conducted a study of the metallicity of High Velocity Clouds (HVCs) in the direction of several extragalactic targets, using data from FUSE and STIS. We selected targets in the direction of HVCs complex C, the Magellanic Stream, and several IVCs. Metallicities were measured for a total of thirteen sightlines. Mrk817, PG1626+554, Mrk876, Mrk205 and Mrk279 lie in the direction of complex C, and they yield metallicities of about 0.1 to 0.2 times solar, consistent with the idea that this cloud is accreting gas that has not yet been part of the Milky Way. NGC7469 and NGC7714 lie in the direction of the Magellanic Stream, but only lines of CII and FeII are seen, so no intrinsic metallicity can be measured. ESO265-G23, PG1011-040 and NGC5253 are projected onto several positive-velocity HVC, and show abundances ranging from 0.1 to 0.5 times solar, although with large uncertainties. This implies that these clouds have diverse origins. Finally, IVCs toward Mrk421, PG0953+414 and HE1143-1810 show abundances ranging from about 0.5 to 1 times solar, indicating they are nearer, Galactic objects.
