Results of measurements in the 60-100-km region using a 2.66-MHz radar operated as an imaging Doppler interferometer are reported. The results of the analysis are presented as two-dimensional images of the scattering surfaces at selected altitudes, each image consisting of a number of simultaneously identified scattering points on an otherwise black background. A resolution of plus or minus 3 deg in zenith angle and plus or minus 5 m/s in velocity is achieved with an antenna array whose combined beamwidth is 28 deg. The results presented here suggest that images of radar scattering can be obtained on scales appropriate to the causative physical mechanisms.
