The Sakurai's (1986, 1990) finite spectral method of solution of the Eddington-Vogt-Sweet (EVS) circulation is expanded, to take into account the latitudinal dependence of the angular velocity, and is used to study the redistribution of angular momentum caused by the meridional circulation in rotating stars. A rotating Cowling-type star in zero-age Main-Sequence phase is used as the basic spherical star, but the nuclear evolution of the basic spherical star is ignored. The results are used to discuss the effect of the meridional circulation on the stellar evolution.
