It is demonstrated that the replacement of the SE by the SM system of coordinates leads to the appearance of an interrelationship between the sector structure and the BzSM component of the IMF. The probability of the appearance of the southward BzSM component increases in the spring when the (+, -) boundary is passed, and in the autumn when the (-, +) boundary is passed. This effect determines seasonal variations of the geoefficiency of the IMF sector boundaries and the corresponding magnetic variations on these boundaries.
