We have observed several extragalactic sources known to be affected by interstellar scattering in the Cygnus region. We show that the scattering is anisotropic, and that the anisotropy is time-variable and frequency independent. These observations add to the growing number of measurements suggesting that a significant component of interstellar scattering is anisotropic. We also present a simple analysis of the properties of the magnetic fields in the Cygnus region.
