The ionization states of heavy ions between 0.16 - 0.24 MeV/Q in 15 flare-associated events from November 1973 to April 1980 are examined. In order to improve significantly the counting statistics and the uncertainties in background correction, data from all events are summed. The summed heavy ion data reveal the presence of both low (Q = 4,5) as well as high (Q 16) charge states which could result from equilibrium temperatures in the source material ranging from approx. 500,000 to approx. 5,000,000 K.
