The cross section for the Li-8(a,n)B-11 reaction - which is crucial to
predictions of primordial nucleosynthesis in inhomogeneous models - is
measured using a radioactive-beam facility. The reaction cross section
to all allowed B-11 states was found to be larger than that to just the
B-11 ground state by about a factor of 5.
