This paper presents a new 3D concept sponsored by the European Commission and called MCUBE study. This 3D module has been calculated to dissipate 30 watts using either metal matrix composite thermal drains or micro heatpipe to spread heat. The module has an overall size of 55mm x 55mm x10.5mm and technologies chosen to build this demonstrator have been proven to be compatible with space requirements.
