An optimization of the radiative transfer calculations is proposed on the basis of the mathematical theory of experiment planning. The case of a semi-infinite atmosphere with the Henyey-Greenstein two-term phase function is considered. A number of polynomial equations which give a relation between the reflectivity ρ(μ, μ0) and the function parameters g1, g2, b1 within three intervals of the single scattering albedo λ = 0.999 - 0.980, λ = 0.975 - 0.935 and λ = 0.925 - 0.725 has been obtained using this technique.
