Exact solutions for massive spherical structures with an isothermal core (P = Kp) and an envelope in which e to the nu power is proportional to r to the 2n, have been obtained. It is seen that only the case K not greater than 0.6 corresponds to a physically real situation. It has been shown that such structures are pulsationally stable. The surface and central redshifts come out to be 0.73 and 8.9 respectively. Suitable neutron star models based upon such configurations have been constructed and their relevant parameters have been obtained. It is found that for a realistic case the mass and size of a neutron star comes out to be 2.4 solar masses and 16.2 km respectively.
