We have identified a population of massive pre-main sequence (PMS) stars in the young open cluster NGC 1893. The presence of Herbig AeBe stars in the vicinity of O-type stars likely to be a few Myr old and their co-existence with B-type main sequence objects of later spectral types indicate that massive star formation is still ongoing in NGC 1893 and has been taking place over a relatively long timescale.
