Scientific paper

Newly measured V-magnitudes and B - V color indices from multiaperture photoelectric photometry are presented for a sample of galaxies in 48 southern pairs. From the measured magnitudes, we constructed growth curves to derive isophotal magnitudes V25 with an estimated mean error of ˜ 0.07 mag. We also give newly measured diameters corrected to the standard D25 system, inclinations, isophotal magnitudes Vh,i25 corrected for effects of external and internal absorption, and new morphological classifications from either existing surveys or our own plates. The absorption-corrected magnitudes Vh,i25 are required in Paper III to estimate mass-to-light ratios M/LV.
