A similarity solution for a supernova remnant whose mass is dominated by material mixed in by hydrodynamic ablation from embedded clumps of gas is derived. This solution is used to calculate the properties of a remnant which can reproduce both the relative and absolute count rates in the M, B, and C soft X-ray bands measured for the local supernova remnant. It is also shown that it is possible to produce the same soft X-ray counts in a remnant whose mass is dominated by material injected by conductive mixing. The global properties of the remnants are remarkably similar in both cases. It is concluded that it is not possible to distinguish uniquely between physically very different remnant structures on the basis of soft X-ray counts alone.
