We propose to measure the mass of a transiting Jovian-sized companion in a 4-day orbit around an 11th magnitude G dwarf star. If our measurement proves the companion is a planet, like the transiting planets HD 209458b, Tres-1b, and HD 149026b, this new planet will be suitable for detailed studies with HST, Spitzer, etc due to the large apparent brightness of its host star. If our measurement proves the companion is more massive than a planet, it will fill an even more sparsely sampled part of the mass-radius phase diagram, either as a brown dwarf or as one of the lowest mass stars known with a direct mass and radius determination.
