Various maps of Mars are compared, including soil density, albedo, hypsometric, and geological. A major finding is the presence of two types of fines: dark and light, with predominance of the light component. Age-dependent variations of mantle density and albedo are identified. The geologically younger regions have a higher concentration of fines and are lighter.
