Mars Surface: Morphology
Scientific paper
Planetary geography progressively passed from a nomenclature to an exploration phase: it is now up to reach a synthetical stage, as terrestrial geography did a long time ago. Among the concerned topics, planetary "geo"morphology is certainly the most ill-treated branch. Searchers neglected the cyclic davisian morphology to study directly structural and then climatic morphology. Doing so, they lost an essential part of methodological reasoning. As far as we are concerned, the general lack of rock and soil samples compared with the huge collection of pictures evidences that the grounds for climatic and structural approaches are weak or unsufficient.
