During the time from 12-20-1979 to 5-6-1980, 66 drawings and a number of photographs of the planet Mars were provided by six observers. A description is presented of the observed Martian regions, and the observations are discussed. The North Pole of the planet could be observed distinctly during the entire study period. The extension of the North Pole area reached two maxima, one at the end of December 1979, and the other at the end of March 1980. Attention is given to Sinus Margeritifer, Mare Acidalium, Lunae Lacus, Mare Cimmerium, Mare Tyrrhenum, and details concerning the employed evaluation method.
