Radio maps of the Seyfert 2 galaxy Markarian 3 have been made with the Very Large Array and the 5 km telescope at 4.9 and 15.4 GHz, each with resolution near 0.5 arc sec. The source is an asymmetric double of separation 600 pc, apparently straddling the optical nucleus. It is speculated that the double source has been ejected from the inner nucleus (less than a few pc) in a process analogous to that responsible for powerful double radio galaxies and quasars.
