While the midplane of the Galaxy is a very well studied region of the sky, the exact details and measurements are not well defined. Additionally, many all-sky catalogs exist that could be used to make these calculations, but they are often very large and contain additional sources outside of the midplane. The 2MASS (Two-Micron Infrared All Sky Survey) catalog contains 471 million point sources (mostly stars) detected in the near infrared band from 1.2-2.2 microns. Over the past year, I have compiled a database of this catalog containing all of the sources within -10
