Star Formation, Interstellar Medium In And Around The Milky Way, Mopra
Scientific paper
The G305 Giant HII region is one of the nearest and richest sites of massive star formation in the Galaxy. We have embarked on a multiwavelength campaign to study this complex and here we apply for time to map the molecular cores and ridge of G305 in three lines of CO with Mopra. We will determine the kinematics of the ridge and cores, determine the gravitational stability of the massive cores, assess the levels of molecular depletion and determine the global pressure balance between the molecular and ionised fractions.
