Manufacturing techniques for the low energy telescopes for the X-ray Multi Mirror mission were studied. X-ray parabolic mirror carriers onto which the reflecting X-ray surface was transferred by the replica method as developed for EXOSAT were fabricated. Instead of using beryllium carriers, the use of carbon fiber reinforced epoxy carriers was investigated, for the series production envisaged for XMM. Carrier design and manufacturing, carrier characteristics obtained, critical areas encountered during the feasibility study, and future activities are discussed.
