An analysis is made of the statistical characteristics of test-wave amplitudes on paths of different length (260, 3000, and 41,300 km) through an artificially disturbed region in the F layer produced by high-power radio-frequency heating. It is shown that the character of the effect of the perturbed region on the received-signal statistics depends on the path length. This large-scale ionospheric 'lens' was found to have an averaging effect on the correlation characteristics of the signal field at the reception point.
