For modeling of the high-latitude ionosphere reliable information about the main ionization trogh (MIT) is needed. The experimental determinations of the MIT position and its shape depend on geomagnetic activity and time. Studies were carried out on the westward HF radio network with the reception center at St. Petersburg. Specific signal changes are observed on every radio path touching the MIT impact.I fthe network includes a large number of paths theMIT dynamics and shape can be studied. Our data have been compared to an existing trough model and to vertical ionopsheric sounding data.
