The equations describing the steady-state flow of an ideal compressible rotating plasma in a gravitational field are analyzed. It is shown that by varying the parameters of the problem, one can obtain the classical equations of static equilibrium, a system of equations describing planetary atmospheric pressures; and a system of equations that is well suited for analyzing the development of sun spots.
