In astrophysical plasmas energy density of magnetic field may exceed
plasma energy density (including rest mass). I will discuss basic
dynamic and dissipative properties of such plasmas and outline their
astrophysical applications focusing on a class of strongly magnetized
neutron stars -- magnetars.
